Meet The SmashFit Advisory Panel


SmashFits's Advisory Panel is comprised of a team of experts from different areas of fitness. Each brings a lifelong commitment to fitness and a level of experience and expertise which is outstanding in their field. The Advisory Panel will consult with our SmashFit executives to review and recommend any necessary changes and to ensure the safety and protection of participating members and clients. They will also evaluate and provide strategic and technical advice.


Kristal Richardson

Kristal Richardson, an IFBB Professional Figure Competitor, is the Co-Owner of BodyWell Nutrition as well as the spokesperson and product developer for the Tight Curves female product line. A midwest native, Kristal earned her Bachelors degree from Hillsdale College in Michigan before moving to Miami, Florida in 1998 to pursue a career opportunity and attend FIU (Florida International University) to earn her MBA in Marketing and Communications.

In 2006, Kristal competed in her first Figure competition and won the Overall Title, qualifying her for national competition. Her very next show, that same year, was the North American Figure Championships where she won her class, and earned her Pro card, raising her to Professional athlete status. Throughout her professional competition career, Kristal has consistently placed in the top 10 at every Pro level show and took seventh at the 2008 Olympia, the highest esteemed competition among Pro competitors.

Kristal has both been on the cover, and inside, numerous fitness magazines, including Oxygen, and has made numerous TV appearances around the country talking about fitness and BodyWell Nutrition.

Always active in sports, Kristal earned her ACE certification and began her own Personal Training business along with health and nutrition counseling.

A proud mother of two chocolate labs, Kristal is a devoted animal lover. She also loves to travel, hang with friends and family, cook, and spend time outdoors.


Dr. David Ryan

Dr. Ryan is the Medical Director of the Arnold Fitness Weekend and is on the Medical Advisory Board for Muscle and Fitness Magazine. His work is found on websites such as Bodybuilding.com, FlexmagazineOnLine.com, Elitefitnesssystems.com, Strengthpro.com, Labrada.com, SmashFit.com and many others. Dr. Ryan's original positions were with the Ohio State University as a Strength and Conditioning Supervisor and he obtained his degree in exercise physiology. His doctorate is from Palmer University in Iowa and he currently practices today in Columbus, Ohio. He has coached several NFL, NHL teams and other lower divisional teams. He specializes in hypo/hypergravitational forces on the human body and worked with the US Air Force for developing the biological envelope of fighter pilots. He has played two professional sports, soccer and rugby and held three world records.

Matt Heringer

Matt Heringer is the owner of Impact Sports Fitness Group, he has been in the fitness business for over 15 years working with professional athletes in the NFL, MLB, former WUSA League, Tennis, and many other sports. As well, Matt has helped hundreds of general fitness clients to tone up and lose weight in the places that count the most. Over the course of those years Matt has refined many different methods of training to maximize results for the individual client. Fitness is a puzzle, it is just a matter of finding the correct pieces of that puzzle to get things moving in the right direction and have success. When it comes to fitness it needs to be fun and entertaining, otherwise you are doomed to failure.


Bill Neylon

Bill Neylon has been a competitive bodybuilder with the NPC (National Physique Committee) for 19 years earning 12 masters overall titles and 9 open lightweight titles. Bill has also been a Florida State judge for the NPC for 13 years officiating at Bodybuilding, Figure, and Fitness Competitions. As Vice Chairman of NPC Florida South District for the past 4 years, Bill brings his expertise in bodybuilding as well as 22 years as an ACE certified personal trainer. A devoted Irishman, Bill resides in West Palm Beach Florida. There, he is owner of the Fitness Edge, a one-on-one personal training facility that he has run successfully for 16 years.


Lisa Dorfman

Lisa Dorfman, MS, RD, CSSD, LMHC a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics and a Board Certified Professional Counselor, has been a leader in the health care field for more than two decades working with professional, world and national class athletes and clients worldwide. Since 2003, she has taught in the University of Miami Department of Exercise and Sports Science and has also been the Sports Nutritionist for the UM Athletic Department, teaching and counseling hundreds of athletes, some onto NCAA, Olympic and world titles. Lisa is personal nutritionist for many professional athletes, including those in the NFL, MLB, PGA, USTA and is the US Sailing Olympic and Paralympics Team Nutritionist.

Since 1983, Lisa has built a diverse portfolio of experiences including: a clinical career in over 15 hospitals and medical centers; corporate programs at numerous Fortune 500 and major financial, law public and private institutions; a Legally Lean © career with the Federal Correctional System, Metro-Dade Police, US Department of Customs, and for The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA),and a culinary expertise teaching at Johnson and Wales University and consulting to chefs and staff worldwide at Sandals Resorts, Ritz Carlton, Doral Saturnia, and Bitter End Resorts in the BVI .

Lisa is a sought after media spokesperson for TV, radio and print campaigns. She is the author of four book, numerous magazine articles, and book chapters, is Nutrition Editor and an Advisory Board Member for SoBeFit Magazine, and a nutrition columnist for South Florida Adventures Magazine. Lisa has appeared on 20/20, Dateline, FOX News, CNN, MSNBC and ESPN and the NBC, CBS & ABC affiliates in hundreds of cities nationwide and has been featured in USA Today, Newsweek, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Men’s Fitness, Men’s Health, Muscle and Fitness, Runners World, Bicycling, Scuba, Splash, Smash, Marie Claire, O, Glamour, Shape, Body & Soul, Redbook, Ladies’ Home Journal, Vegetarian Times, etc. Lisa is currently the media spokesperson for the Quaker Oats Lite Snacking Campaign, SOYJOY, The Cherry Institute, Tea Council USA, USA Rice Federation, and has represented Eggland’s Best, Gatorade, Gourmet Garden, Guiltless Gourmet, Inc., Hormel, M&M/Mars, Mrs. T’s Pierogies, Proctor and Gamble, Sorrento Cheese, Tropicana, US Cranberries, & Wishbone in Satellite Media Tours (SMT), ground tours and ad campaigns worldwide.

As a leader in her profession, Lisa was a National Media Spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association ’03-’08, and has served as chairman for the Nutrition Entrepreneurs (NE), Vegetarian Nutrition (VN) and Dietetics in Developmental and Psychiatric Disorders and public relations director for the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionists (SCAN) Practice Groups (DPG). She has also been an ongoing educator, counselor and coach to the USOC, USAT&F, USAT, USTA and The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). She was selected by her colleagues as Recognized Dietitian of the Year and has been named to Who's Who in American Women.

Known nationally as “The Running Nutritionist™,” Lisa is a competitive runner and triathlete who has competed in more than 34 marathons, IronmanUSA Lake Placid, dozens of half marathons and 1/2 ironmans, and hundreds of running and multisport races. In 2004, she competed for the United States on Team USA at the World Long Distance Duathlon Championships. Lisa resides in Miami, Florida with her husband of 26 years and three children, Rebecca 21, Danielle 19 and Joseph 17.


 

Joe Gigantino

Joe Gigantino Jr. has been a leading entrepreneur since his arrival in the Silicon Valley.  After playing Division 1 football at Fresno State, Joe received his BS degree in Business Marketing and began his career. Joe started his first business soon after graduation. Results Marketing was formed to help athletic facilities incorporate EFT transactions into their billing procedures.

In 1992, at the age of 25, he merged his business with a small athletic club in San Jose, California. Within 30 months from inception, Joe grew the combined business to the sixth fastest growing private company in the Silicon Valley, as stated by the San Jose Business Journal. He was selected by the same publication as one of the top 30 executives under the age of 30 in the Valley. In that same year, Joe was chosen as 1 of 50 from a pool of 1,000 applicants, and the youngest to participate in the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) “Birthing of Giants” Program. Joe sold his interest in the business in 1995 to a valley-based firm who took the chain public.

While building a fast growing business, Joe managed and secured many major contracts with large corporations in the Valley. He oversaw the purchasing of all equipment and apparel, as well as obtained a solid customer base of well over 50,000 through innovative marketing techniques, solid sales management and exemplary customer service.

Joe began his venture into commercial real estate in 1997 with the purchase of his first athletic club building in Milpitas, California. He has successfully continued buying commercial real estate property with athletic club businesses in Gilroy, California, Prescott, Arizona and his most recent athletic club in Los Gatos, California.

Joe has a successful record in start-up ventures: conducting analysis of potential areas for new business development, site and source selection, planning and organizing business policy, establishing customer base and securing long-term relationships, with his expertise being in the business building and development arena. 

With the huge push in social media, Joe has gotten on board by using tools such as Facebook and Twitter to reach his vast audience of like-minded followers. Joe also launched www.TheWorkout.com theWorkout.com last year, providing a site where he’s an expert in the fitness industry. Joe Klemczewski, Ph.D.

Dr. Klemczewski received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the Indiana University School of Medicine.  While working as an orthopedic outpatient physical therapist, he continued his education by earning a Masters and Doctorate in health and nutrition related fields.  Along the way, he also studied for and passed the renowned Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist examination with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).  He finished a second doctoral dissertation investigating all contributing causes of childhood obesity and a corrective approach on his way to a PhD in Health Education. 

Athletics led Klemczewski to weight training by the age of thirteen and he competed in his first bodybuilding contest at the age of twenty.  By the age of twenty-seven he won his pro card with the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation (WNBF) and has competed in pro bodybuilding’s largest venues including top-five finishes at the Mr. International and Mr. Universe contests. 

Shortly after finishing his first doctorate and winning his pro card, Dr. Joe created a wellness corporation and opened a fitness facility.  He next founded Genetitec, Inc., a supplement company specializing in proprietary protein formulations.  Continuing his specialty in product development, Klemczewski started A3R Labs, Inc. and is introducing new products like The Diet Doc Protein Blend – a functional time-released powder and Conrol-4, a blood-sugar modulating supplement perfect for dieting.

Joe specializes in intensive nutritional consulting and contest preparation.  He has helped clients win over 120 pro cards and more than 25 pro titles in the last decade alone (www.perfectpeaking.com).   His staff is the most educated and experienced in the industry and has created unique support programs for training and posing as well as his original “Perfect Peaking” program.

He began franchising his Diet Doc business model in 2007 and there are now several Diet Doc Weight-Loss Centers across the country (www.thedietdoc.com).  This program has helped thousands of general population clients since its inception and carries an active client load in the hundreds.  Monthly travels around the nation to give motivational and instructional workshops keep Dr. Klemczewski anchored in the health culture. 
Joe is currently working to restart his weekly weight-loss radio show, Dr. Joe; America’s Permanent Weight Loss Expert and will bring The Diet Doc Magazine to market this year.  He has been a contributing science editor for Chelo Publishing, a health and fitness magazine publisher in New York, for the last ten years.  His articles regularly appear in Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness and Best Body and Dr. Klemczewski has been a contributing writer for eDiets among several other health websites.  His newest book, co-authored with Dr. Scott Uloth, MD, was released nationally in 2009 www.thedietdocs.com
