Some Background:
I began my fitness career at 3, when my Mom put me in gymnastics. I adored gymnastics and competed all through my kid years. It gave me confidence and taught me self-discipline, the kind of discipline that gets you where you want to go in life. I believe it also helped form my body in terms of strength and muscular structure. When I think about it, I've been conditioning since i was in preschool!

A few years after college, I married my high school sweetheart. His career as a Marine Corp pilot took me around the country which was both fun and frustrating. I started my career as a graphic designer in 1991 and branched out as a starving artist in 2000. But it didn't pay well. I finally hit gold (ok - more like gold plate) when in 2005, my artwork was published in calendars and journals. You may have seen them at Borders Books.

Throughout the years, I continued to work out off and on. Not being in one spot for long, sometimes I'd join a gym and sometimes not. That meant sometimes I was in good shape, sometimes I wasn't. I worked out through my first pregnancy, but it took me a year to get back to the gym. With the birth of my second baby, I knew I couldn't wait that long. I waddled into the gym every day and worked out until the last minute. No, it DID NOT make labor smoother, but it did speed my recovery, helped me jump back in shape, and restored some of my brain cells lost in the baby haze.

Once home from the hospital, feeling poofy, bloated, and tired, my friend came over to visit. She brought a gift for the baby and she brought me fitness magazines. "Thaaaanks", I said. Just what I needed, buff girls staring at marshmallow me. BUT, once alone with these girls, I felt inspired by them. Some of them were even Mom's. Determined to "look like I never had kids", I listened to them. I did their "6 Moves To a Better Back", lunged for my "best butt ever", and crunched towards my "bikini body" until my gym friends started to take notice. And then I met my good friend Sherie Salvadori, an IFBB Figure Pro, and trainer extraordinaire.

Truth is, I never thought I needed a trainer. Probably didn't if I just wanted to stay exactly the way I was. But I didn't.

It wasn't until Sherie showed me exactly what to lift, how many times, and how heavy, that my body started to change. That, coupled with the almighty diet, and my body was transformed. With lots of encouragement and some gentle prodding, so began my journey as a Figure competitor, and part of my inspiration for Smashfit. Although there are many talented trainers out there, I needed a specific trainer to achieve a specific goal. Sherie was my fit.

As I train for my next show, I realize that the biggest change has not been in my abs, or my hamstrings, or even my glutes...the biggest change has been in my MIND. Once I decided to change it, I did it. So can you. Let SmashFit help get you where you want to go.
