Workout Guilt

Workout Guilt. You want to go but you don't. You schedule it but you break your "appointment". Then you beat yourself up for not following through. In the end you wind up doing more harm than good because no one does well when they're beaten down, even if it's from yourself. It's self-defeating and energy-sucking.

4 Ways To Break Free of Workout Guilt

1. Shift your thinking. The pressure of "losing weight" and FAST only adds to the stress of your already stressful life. Like you don't already have too much to do. Start looking at exercise as a way to alleviate stress. Look at it as a release from the pressures of your day and escape into your health. The reward will be a stronger and tigher body.

2. Put your fitness at the top of your list, not the bottom. Make it one of the first things you do in the day (if possible) and you won't have it hanging over your head all day. The bonus is an endorphine high and a sense of accomplishment.

3. Write out your goals and clearly define what you want. Plan out each workout and know what muscles you will work and which exercises you will do. Having a plan for the week (or month) removes the pressure of feeling clueless and it gives you a solid game plan.

4. Stop putting yourself down. Just stop. Do the best you can and prove to yourself you can do it.
