6 Reasons Your Resolutions are Losing Their Steam
1. You went in without a plan.
3. You're not being proactive.
6. You don't have the right information for you.
You are strong in every place in your life, but for some reason, when it comes to sticking to your health and fitness plan, it's just not sticking.
6 Reasons Your Resolutions are Losing Their Steam
1. You went in without a plan.
It takes more than, "I'm going to eat better" or "I'm going to workout". You have to really lay things out for yourself. WHAT kinds of food, for what meals, at what time of day. WHEN will you workout, what will you be doing, and for how long.
2. There's no accountability.
2. There's no accountability.
"No one will know", you say to yourself. But tell people. Don't tell everyone, like your great Aunt Betty who always thinks you should eat more, or your friend who seems to only have negative things to say about most things, tell only your bestest and most trusted friend(s), the one who us strong enough to lift you when you're not feeling strong.
3. You're not being proactive.
You're thinking how much you want to get in shape, lose some layers and you're going to research tomorrow, or go the bookstore on your way home...but you don't.
4. You're trying to make all your changes all at once.
4. You're trying to make all your changes all at once.
You wont' get there any faster but giving up everything you love and going to the gym 2 hours every day, then burning yourself out and two weeks and quitting. When you try to sprint a marathon, you'll burn out fast. Take one single step, like no more buying junk food for the house; then start eating more fruits and vegetables; then start cutting out sugar, etc. When you build one solid on top of another, you build a strong foundation that's much harder to knock over.
5. You're only doing it half way.
5. You're only doing it half way.
You've been eating "ok" but you've already splurged, and you've only made it to the gym once this week and were shooting for 4. A so so effort gives you so so results. Again, make a plan you'll stick to (see reason 1)
6. You don't have the right information for you.
If you're copying your friends plan, it might work, it might not. Your friend may be taking up running which requires more carbs, but if you're hitting the gym to build muscle, you need to be thinking protein. The wrong plan will bring you to the wrong place.
STAY STRONG. You can do this! The things with the greatest rewards take time to build momentum, but it is beyond worth your while, and YOU are worth your while.
