For Trainers: How To Fill Out Your Profile
By: The SmashFit Team

Filling in the boxes is pretty self explanatory, but there are two boxes that allow your new clients to get a glimpse into your personality and ultimately decide if you are their match. They are, "Explain your training philosophy", and "What do you want your clients to know about you?". Each question allows you to explain why your training style is unique and what approach you bring to your profession.

Your Philosophy
What is this exactly? This is where you get to explain your thoughts, and mind set regarding your personal training and fitness profession along with how you approach each new client. Do you view yourself as a teacher? A motivator? A coach? What is your primary function as their trainer? How will you approach their fitness goals? These are a few questions you may want to answer

What You Want Your Clients To Know About You
This box may be the most important since this is where you get a chance to write about your background and describe any special training, classes, or programs you are involved in. You should also describe any special services you offer. The bottom line is that you can write whatever you'd like. Here are some ideas.

You could:

  • Describe your strengths as a Personal Trainer and/or Nutritionist.
  • Explain your specialty in more detail.
  • Describe any unique or unusual training techniques (i.e. training on the beach, kettle-balls, bands, strappy thingy's, etc.)
  • Talk about any special programs or classes you are involved in (i.e. classes for kids, fitness education or instruction, etc.)
  • Talk about special training you offer (i.e. competition prep, sport specific, pre or post natal, etc.)
  • Describe current or prior achievements that add to your knowledge as a trainer (competitor, coach, etc.)

Also, be sure to describe any special services you offer.
Here are some ideas:

Group Training - get your client to gather one, or a few friends, and give them a discount for training them together

In-home/On Site training - go to their home or location for their convenience and privacy

Nutrition Counseling (if you are certified) - put together a meal plan that will aid in their fitness goals

Fitness Mentoring - for someone who needs extra time, information and attention outside of training sessions

Fitness Consulting - for a more experienced client who may just need a new game plan

Remember, this is your spot to shine, so sell yourself. Don't forget, you can edit your profile any time.

Also, PLEASE post a picture. It should be your best head or body shot, although a half body shot is best. You don’t want to be too far from the camera. Your clients want to meet you!  If you don't have a photo, have someone take it for you, the plainer the background the better.

The site will ask for certain info and may not let you move to the next page without it. If there is a field you do not want to enter (like your phone number or street address), just put "n/a".

And one last thing, please behave. No nudity or profanity.

Thanks! We look forward to working with you.
